Ryan Ashworth

MSc MCSP HCPC

Ryan graduated with a BSc in Sport & Exercise Science which initially sparked his interest in Physiotherapy, he then later went on to complete an MSc (Pre-Registration) in Physiotherapy at the University of Essex.

Upon completion of his degree, he began to work within the NHS where he completed his junior rotations in a large acute hospital working with patients from varying conditions and needs. These include ICU & COVID ICU, stroke, burns & plastics, general medicine, and Orthopaedics where he has gained experience in emergency trauma and elective surgery rehabilitation. He went on to gain a senior role within the NHS, before further specialising in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy where he now works as a Senior MSK Physiotherapist for the NHS, providing assessment and treatment for a wide variety of conditions such as muscle sprains to back pain, and orthopaedic surgeries. Ryan has also gone on to work in a private hospital gaining further experience and expanding his knowledge.

The experience Ryan has gained has led him to rehabilitate people who are learning to walk again to athletes return to sport after an injury/surgery. Ryan’s experiences have helped him develop the ability to comprehensively assess a wide range of conditions and use his clinical reasoning to individualise rehabilitation programs to help you get back to your goals.

Outside of Physiotherapy, Ryan enjoys resistance training, cycling, running and following rugby – a sport he has spent a large majority of his life playing.
